UCA
STUDENT PROFILE
Zakrzewski was the assistant for the head golf coach, Bunny Adcock, in the athletic department when she was asked to come on as a marketer last summer. Zakrzewski will graduate in December and had plans to attend law school, but now she is looking to find a job in the marketing field. "I wanted to go to law school, but this job has made me look into other fields," she said. "I really enjoy it. It has given me a different look on what I want to do for the rest of my life." As the student director in charge of spring sports, things are beginning to gear up for Zakrzewski. The biggest project she is working on currently is getting the UCA Diamonds prepared for the debut on Feb. 16, which is the opening game for the baseball team. "The UCA Diamonds is a group of 18 ladies who will help work at games and in getting the games promoted," she said. "They are thrilled to death about it."
Other events Zakrzewski has planned include Kid’s Day, Greek Day, and sponsored games with giveaways. All this is to help increase awareness, attendance, and recognition of the spring sports. Zakrzewski has been very active in her four years at UCA. She is a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority where she is president, served on Greek Task Force, Greek Judicial Board, Greek Week Committee, Homecoming Committee, and Panhellenic. "Involvement in the Greek system has helped me a lot in my job," she said. "Much of the things I do now are the same things I do in my own sorority." Zakrzewski’s plans to stay on with the athletic department until her December graduation. Written by Lisa Frein, Office of Communications |
