The Interfraternity Council, or "IFC" is the representative governing body for the four recognized North Amercian Interfraternity Conference (NIC) member fraternities at the University of Central Arkansas.  These fraternities are:  Alpha Kappa Lambda, Pi Kappa Alpha, Sigma Nu, and Sigma Phi Epsilon.  IFC promotes Greek unity and joins the chapters on campus together to strive for excellence in academics and campus and community involvement.

IFC's purposes include:

  • Representing fraternity interests to the University and community.

  • Coordinating membership recruitment activities.

  • Promoting self-governance among Greek organizations.

  • Promoting and coordinating community service projects.

  • Sponsoring educational and leadership development opportunities for fraternity members.

WE ARE FRATERNITY

We, as fraternity, believe in the development of the human spirit.  The primary process by which the human spirit is developed is through the relationships we share with one another, ourselves, and with God.  These relationships are the essence of our identity.  It is through fraternity with others that we know who we are.  The absence of positive relationships, not the absence of things and events, is a primary source of unhappiness.  The fraternity is essentially making one statement:  We believe in the developing human spirit.  It is through the values expressed in our ritual that we share this belief.  It is through our actions that we exemplify this belief.  As a system of values, our ritual provides us with a foundation for the art of living.  These shared values are:  love, loyalty, morality, responsibility, and commitment.
