One is “the most remarkable virtuoso in the…history of (the double-bass)” (New Yorker); the other is a mandolin prodigy who, along with his band Nickel Creek, has redefined bluegrass. Edgar Meyer and Chris Thile are expanding the boundaries of traditional music, and their collaboration is a major musical moment. In this special duet performance, they will dazzle the audience with acoustic music sure to top off an great festival.

The Arkansas Acoustic Festival is an annual acoustic festival in Conway Arkansas.  It  is a three-day event that begins with a FREE concert on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Winners from the previous year's Showdown Competition will perform along with others at the Friday event. 

On Saturday, a FREE lunch cookout/jam session will be followed by musician workshops and the 2005 Arkansas Showdown Competition at the Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas.  On Sunday, mandolin and bass player Chris Thile and Edgar Meyer will perform at Reynolds.

The Festival is produced by UCA Public Appearances, and supported by UCA Student Services.  The Festival Committee is proud to present the our third annual Acoustic Festival.
