Recruitment Rules and Schedule 
Spring 04

General Rules for IFC Recruitment Spring 2004 

1. To participate in recruitment, you must be enrolled in at the University of Central Arkansas and have completed 12 hours of college credit with a 2.3 cumulative GPA.  Only students who meet these requirements are eligible to receive a bid to join a fraternity.

2. Fraternities may not promise a bid to a recruit at any time during the recruitment period before 12 noon January 18th. (Bid Day).

3. Recruits must not currently be or ever have been an initiated member of any National International Conference member fraternity.
   

The official Recruitment Registration form must be completed and returned to the Greek Services Office no later than Tuesday, January 13^th at 4:30 p.m.  Applications may be completed online at http://www.uca.edu/divisions/student/greeks/rushform.htm until midnight on Tuesday, January 13.

5. Any student who registers after MIDNIGHT, JANUARY 13 (and is deemed eligible by Greek Services) may receive an open bid after January 20.

6. STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT ACCEPTED BIDS ON Sunday, January 18th ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ATTEND BID PARTIES ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 18.  BID PARTIES ARE NOT TYPICALLY ALCOHOL -FREE, AND THEREFORE VIOLATE RECRUITMENT RULES.  ANY DOCUMENTED INCIDENTS OF THIS NATURE WILL RESULT IN IFC DISCIPLINARY ACTION.

7. NO RECRUITMENT EVENTS OTHER THAN THOSE ON THE IFC APPROVED RECRUITMENT SCHEDULE ARE ALLOWED BY IFC.  The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday January 13	8:30 p.m. till 10:00 p.m.	Pizza Social SC Food Court Area
Tuesday January 13	12:00 a.m.	MIDNIGHT DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION
Wednesday January 14	5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.	Sigma Nu  Exclusive Night
Wednesday January 14	8:30 p.m. till 12:00 a.m.	Alpha Kappa Lambda  Exclusive Night
Thursday January 15	5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.	Sigma Phi Epsilon  Exclusive Night
Thursday January 15	8:30 p.m. till 12:00 a.m.	Phi Sigma Kappa  Exclusive Night
Friday January 16	5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.	Sigma Tau Gamma  Exclusive Night
Friday January 16	8:30 p.m. till 12:00 a.m.	Pi Kappa Alpha  Exclusive Night
Saturday January 17	OPEN NIGHT  (visit organized events  by any group) NO ALCOHOL OR WOMEN ALLOWED
Sunday January 18	10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Bids not picked up at this time must be picked up at the earliest date after the 18th.	BID DAY STUDENT CENTER, 207

8. All Exclusive Night and Open Night Events shall end at designated times.  No recruits are to be at residences or events past your fraternity’s scheduled exclusive time for any reason.

9. From 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8^th until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 18^th, no visiting with chapters or contact between recruits and fraternity men is allowed other than the times prescribed by the IFC rules.

10. All recruitment events and activities (group or individual) are ALCOHOL FREE and exclude participation by WOMEN (unless otherwise approved by a majority vote of IFC).

DOCUMENTED VIOLATIONS OF THESE 
RULES MAY RESULT IN 

1. A RECRUIT LOSING AN OPPORTUNITY TO ACCEPT A BID.

2. A FRATERNITY LOSING AN OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE RECRUITS.

3. DISCIPLINE FROM IFC.
