CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of the first The on-campus residence hall winners were: Hughes Hall with 15,280 minutes The off-campus apartment residence winners were: Bear Village - (Team #1) with 2,962 minutes. The purpose of the program was to get all UCA campus residence students to work as a team with their residence mates to acquire as many minutes of exercise in a 6 week period as possible working out only 60 minutes/day/participant. Working as a team they could make new friends in their residences, help keep each other accountable and motivated to a workout program and we would promote activities at the HPER Center that lead to improved health and life-long fitness. Each class had a goal. They were as follows: FRESHMAN: Avoid the “Freshman 15” Following is a list of all the standings at the end of the six week program:
Congratulations and many thanks to all who participated. A permanent plaque will be placed in the HPER Fitness Center bearing the names of the respective residence (on and off campus) winners each year. We at the HPER Center look forward to everyone continuing to exercise throughout the year! Good luck also to the other teams at next years challenge!
