General Program Information

The graduate program in special education is designed to prepare teachers as collaborative professionals committed to working closely with families and other professionals to create the most effective learning environment for infants, toddlers, young children, and students with diverse learning needs. The MSE in Special Education is a 36-hour program referred to as the Collaborative Instructional Specialist Program. This single performance-based program contains two tracks designed in accordance with the January 2002 Arkansas Instructional Specialist licensure requirements: Collaborative Instructional Specialist Ages 0-8 Years and Collaborative Instructional Specialist Grades 4-12. The classes for these tracks are based on the following rotation schedule.
