Student Financial Aid

Other Financial Aid Resources

This page contains other valuable financial aid information and resources.  Many common financial aid questions can be answered by visiting our Frequently Asked Questions page.  If you still have unanswered questions, you may contact our office by using the information at the bottom of this page.

U.S. Department of Education

  • The Guide to Federal Student Aid is a comprehensive resource on student financial aid from the U.S. Department of Education.  Grants, loans, and work-study are the three major forms of aid available through the Department of Education's Federal Student Aid office.  This guide tells you about the different aid programs and how to apply for them.

  • Completing the FAFSA is an introductory publication for students that provides instructions on how to complete the online or paper version of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

  • www.studentloans.gov is a new and comprehensive site from the U.S. Department of Education designed to give students a one-stop shop for information and access to their their Direct Stafford, Parent PLUS, and Graduate PLUS Loans issued through the Department.

  • www.college.gov is a site built by the U.S. Department of Education in collaboration with students.  It is intended to be the go-to source for information and resources about planning, preparing and paying for postsecondary education (such as 2- or 4-year colleges and universities, as well as vocational or career schools).

Private or Alternative Loan Lender Information

Private or Alternative loans can provide a source of funding if you have exhausted all sources of federal student aid.  All students are encouraged to apply for federal student loans through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to applying for private education loans.  Federal student loans may have more favorable terms than private education loans.  Lastly, private education loans may reduce the student's eligibility for free or lower cost financial aid available to a student.  Students may begin the process of applying for federal student loans through the UCA Financial Aid web site or by going directly to the federal government's web site for the FAFSA.

Lenders

Below you will find a comprehensive list of the private education loan lenders that UCA students have used within the last three years.  It is not a preferred lender list.  It is important that you compare the terms and conditions of the loans before you commit to a particular borrower.
