Recruitment

IFC allows for year-round open bidding with two structured recruitment periods, one during each the Fall and Spring semesters. Once a student has achieved the university minimum, 12 hours with a 2.3 GPA, they become eligible to join a fraternity. Bids may be issues and accepted at any point during the semester after IFC Bid Day but before university finals.

Fall 2009 - Informal Recruitment Period August 20th - September 4th

Spring 2010 - Formal Recruitment Period January 13th - 16th

Recruitment Rules

General Rules for IFC Formal Recruitment Spring Semester

1. To participate in recruitment, recruits must be enrolled in the University of Central Arkansas and have completed 12 hours of college credit with a 2.3 cumulative GPA. Only students who meet these requirements are eligible to receive a bid to join a fraternity.

2. All recruitment events must take place within Faulkner County.

3. All recruitment events must end by 12:00 midnight.

4. All recruitment events and activities must be ALCOHOL FREE.

5. All recruitment events are to be free of participation by WOMEN.

6. Recruits must not currently be or ever have been an initiated member of any National International Conference member fraternity.

7. Fraternities may not promise a bid to a recruit at any time before Bid Day.

8. Recruitment events are subject to the same approval process through the Dean of Students office as all other registered events.

9. In order to receive a bid on Bid Day (Date TBD) a recruit must be signed up with the Office of Student Life by midnight on Rotation Night (Date TBD) . Organizations cannot vote on recruits unless they are listed on the Final Eligible List which will be available at 8:00am Open Night .

10. Open Bids – any recruits signed up after midnight on Rotation Night will be eligible to receive bids on or after Wednesday the following week. Time will be set aside on Wednesday from 3:00 – 5:00 to pick up bids in the Office of Student Life. After that it will be the recruit’s responsibility to schedule an appointment to pick up and open bid.

11. Organizations should not hold ANY events other than their official recruitment events between Rotation Night and Bid Day.

12. The hours between the end of Open Night  and the end of Bid Day  is designated “Greek Silence” and there should be no contact between recruits and organizations.
