Go Greek!
Greek Recruitment Information
Here at the University of Central Arkansas we practice “deferred recruitment” which means that a student must have 12 hours of college credit completed with a minimum grade point average of a 2.3 to be eligible to receive a bid from a fraternity or sorority. Although, groups may set higher standards than this minimum standard; it is important to check with individual groups for eligibility requirements.
Deferred recruitment requires that IFC and NPC Formal Recruitment be held in the spring semester. Whereas, Formal Recruitment is not held until the spring semester “open bids” are given out at individual chapter’s discretion during the fall semester. Sororities and fraternities will advertise there intentions to give out open bids through interest meetings advertised on campus or at Go Greek Information Night.
NPHC intake varies and those interested should attend Go Greek Information Night or check the NPHC web page for more information.
Deferred recruitment for has been practiced at UCA since the spring of 2000. The philosophy of Greek Life is that students who demonstrate that they can achieve a 2.3 GPA and complete 12 hours are more ready for the challenges of Greek Life.
Since implementation, the average age and GPA of most groups have increased; students are more acclimated to college before joining; and parents are more satisfied with the students' experience.

UCA Greek Organizations
Since 1915 Greek organizations at UCA have been an integral part of campus life. Currently, 21 organizations (12 fraternities, 9 sororities, including 9 traditionally African American Greek organizations) comprise UCA’s outstanding Greek community.
The Interfraternity (IFC), Panhellenic (NPC), and National Pan-Hellenic Councils (NPHC) serve as the governing bodies of the 21 chapters at UCA. In this system IFC, NPC, and NPHC students work together as a unified force to promote Greek life, govern chapters, and sponsor Greek events.
