We have noticed some issues with BlackBoard that may require recommendations to:
Download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader
Download the latest version of Java
Download Internet Explorer 7
Download Mozilla Firefox 2.0
Java Security Certificate
After logging in to the BlackBoard, you may be prompted to accept a Java Security Certificate. You must click Yes or Always to ensure that Learning System functionality using Java will work properly in your browser.
To ensure your browser is configured so the complete functionality of the BlackBoard application is available to you, use the Browser Check.

Hardware and Software Checklist for Blackboard
We recommend the following Hardware and Software for students using BlackBoard.
- Minimum OS: Windows XP
- Microsoft Office 2003 or higher
- Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0 or higher
- At least a DSL/Cable Modem

Turn off all pop up blockers.
- Go to Tools
- Pop-up blocker
- Turn off

Delete all of your tool bars (yahoo, aol, google, etc.)
- Go to Control Panel
- Add and Remove Programs
- Find your toolbars on the list
- Hit Delete
- Go to the following link and run the Tune Up.
Logging Into BlackBoard
A student must log in to URSA to access their BlackBoard courses. (https://ursa.uca.edu/cp/home/displaylogin).
To log in to URSA you will need your network account information. Your username is the first part of your email address and your password is a six digit pin number.(jdoe@cub.uca.edu username is jdoe)
If you don't know this information you will need to bring a photo ID to BBA 106.
Once in BlackBoard you will go the My Courses tab. Click on the course you are trying to access, a new window should pop up, you are now in your BlackBoard course.
If you get any digital signature or Active X warnings, click on the warning and accept/run.
Frequently Asked Questions
This is how you can uninstall the Safari toolbar
- Open the Finder application and browse to Applications.
- Scroll down to Toolbars and click on.
- Double-click on Uninstall.
- Fill in the User name and Password and click the OK button.
