Assistant/Associate Professor

Department of Physical Therapy

JOB DESCRIPTION: The University of Central Arkansas Department of Physical Therapy invites applications for a tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning as early as January 2010.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: PhD required in anatomy or neurobiology and have demonstrated competence in teaching human gross anatomy and/or neuroscience. Preference will be given to candidates who also possess experience teaching human physiology. Teaching responsibilities include team-taught courses in gross anatomy, neuroscience, and/or human physiology.

Successful candidates will have established or demonstrated the potential to develop an independent research program capable of attracting extramural funding. Numerous opportunities exist for collaborative research with department and local medical faculty members, and with faculty members at other area institutions. Departmental research interests include prevention of the sequelae of diabetes, management of spasticity following spinal cord injury, musculoskeletal examination techniques, and pain management in neonates.

SALARY: Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
