Assistant Professor of Spanish
Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures
Tenure-track assistant professor for a specialist in Spanish teacher education and/or second language acquisition (applied linguistics) to teach at all levels in the Spanish BA and MA programs beginning August 15, 2010. Ph.D. in Spanish or field related to this position description. Secondary interests/experience in teaching foreign languages/ESL at the P-12 level, teaching Spanish to heritage speakers, and/or teaching translational strongly desired. Teaching load will include Spanish language courses at all levels, Spanish linguistics and courses taught in English (Methods, Acquisition, Assessment) in our teacher preparation program. 3/3 teaching load in first year and 4/4 thereafter with possibility of reassigned time. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English.
