Consultations and Training
The IDC provides two faculty coordinators who conduct technology seminars and workshops, and an instructional technology consultant who conducts workshops, assists faculty one-on-one with problems related to technology, and develops materials to support technology-related needs. Training in each of the following software packages is available through the Instructional Development Center:
Blackboard (Course Management software)
URSA (UCA Web Portal)
Luminis Content Management Suite (LCMS - UCA Web Software)
SMART (white board - equipment and software, including classroom multi-media carts)
DyKnow (interactive white board software - Click this DyKnow link for download information)
Related Instructional Enhancement Software (Blackboard - Respondus, Power Point - ISpring)

Technology Faculty Associates
The IDC and the Technology Faculty Associates Advisory Board coordinate several workshops in May for faculty members who wish to incorporate UCA Blackboard into their regular classes and/or develop online courses. Faculty must apply for the May workshops early in the Spring Semester. This will be announced by e-mail with an application form.
UCA Blackboard
As UCA transitions to Blackboard, numerous conversion seminars are being held to apprise faculty of the methods needed to move course materials to UCA Blackboard. Seminars covering the functions of individual Blackboard Tools also will be conducted throughout the transition period. Watch for URSA announcements and emails concerning the scheduling of these events.
