Founding Thesis and Presentation

i.d.e.a.l. founder Anthony Turner (BBA, '02) worked to create i.d.e.a.l. after visiting Texas A&M University and learning about the FishAIDES program.  The documents below outline the process involved in getting i.d.e.a.l. started as well as the basic philosophy of i.d.e.a.l.

Each i.d.e.a.l. Director adds to the mission and scope of i.d.e.a.l., but i.d.e.a.l. will always rely on the documents as a basis for its mission.

Current Structure

i.d.e.a.l. is currently funded and supported by the UCA Student Government Association.  i.d.e.a.l. maintains an office in the SGA Offices (SC 208) and assists SGA by providing pages for meetings, staff for the SGA office, and members for University committees.

The i.d.e.a.l.. Director oversees the i.d.e.a.l.. curriculum, Alumni Leaders and i.d.e.a.l. members.  The director is responsible for the day to day operations of i.d.e.a.l. including budgeting and curriculum and is ultimately accountable for maintaining the goals and objectives of i.d.e.a.l.  The i.d.e.a.l. Director is chosen by i.d.e.a.l. Advisors and SGA Executive members.

Each year the i.d.e.a.l. Advisors and SGA Executive members also choose several former i.d.e.a.l. members to serve as Alumni Leaders.  Alumni leaders serve as a main contact for the i.d.e.a.l. members and help to implement curriculum, training, and meetings.

The SGA Liaison works with the Alumni Leaders to help implement curriculum, training but also work as a intermediary between i.d.e.a.l. and the Student Government Association.  The SGA Liaison reports on the progress of the i.d.e.a.l. members to the full SGA membership.

The i.d.e.a.l. Advisors work as guides for all the student leaders involved in i.d.e.a.l. One advisor is an SGA Advisor and the other is chosen from other faculty and staff.  The advisors' main duties are to help maintain academic standards and to guide program and curriculum development.
