Novell Client with Service Pack 5
The novell client for Windows software allows users of Windows XP to access and use all of UCA network services. The Novell Client is already installed on your computer and comes configured. If you experience any problems with the client software please call the helpdesk, 450-3107.

Microsoft Office
Unfortunately, under the Microsoft Campus Agreement, the Information Technology Department can only install Microsoft Office application suite on all UCA owned computers, as well as providing a "work at home' option that allows University employees to install Microsoft Office on one computer at their home for work purposes.
SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences)
SPSS is a computer application that provides statistical information of data.
Unfortunately, only Faculty and Staff with UCA owned computer are able to install SPSS. SPSS installation is available at the Information Technology Help Desk
Open Office
Open Office is a free office suite of tools to install on your desktop to create documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
The suite also has the ability to open and save Microsoft Office documents, PDF files, and Macromedia Flash SWF files.

Adode Acrobat Reader Version 9
Adobe Reader is a pdf viewer that can open and interact with all PDF documents. Easily view, print, and collaborate on PDF files.

PDF Writer
For those who may not be familiar with this application, the PDF writer is software that will allow you to create PDF files from your documents. Once you install the PDF software it will show up on your computer as a printer. You may use the writer to generate PDF files by selecting it as the printer for documents that you create.
You can install the PDF writer with the steps listed below.
- Login to the network.
- Click on Start > Run
- Enter the command H:\appl\pdf\install.exe
- Click Ok.

University of Central Arkansas uses the Sophos Anti-virus product. The software provides both anti-virus protection and spyware protection. The software can be downloaded using the links listed below. The Sophos product is for use on university owned computers and residential students.
