General Program Information

The Educational Specialist degree in educational leadership reflects the College of Education's historic mission and commitment to preparing leaders for P-12 schools. The program is designed to prepare central office personnel with emphasis on the superintendency. The curricula are based upon national standards and are accredited by the state and NCATE. Graduates are required to successfully complete a national examination prior to receiving their licenses; the percentage of graduates successfully completing these examinations on first attempt is among the highest in the state.
