CINAHL - (Cumulated Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) Offers complete coverage of English-language nursing journals and publications from the National League for Nursing and the American Nurses' Association, covering nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines. In addition, this database offers access to health care books, nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards of practice, educational software, audiovisuals and book chapters.
Cochrane Library - The Cochrane Library consists of six independent databases serving the new of health care professional in the field. Cochrane provides reports on the methods used in controlled medically trials (Methodology Register), provides published systematic reviews on the effects of health care (Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects), contains full-text articles and protocols focusing on the effects of healthcare (Database of Systematic Reviews), provides information on the costs and effects of drugs, treatments and procedures (NHS Economic Evaluation Database), provides details of completed and ongoing health technology assessments (Health Technology Assessments), and provides a bibliography of controlled trials identified by contributors to the Cochrane Collaboration (Central Register of Controlled Trials).
Health Reference Center - Provides an integrated collection of general interest health and fitness magazines, medical and professional periodicals, reference books and pamphlets. Records are available in a combination of indexing, abstracts or full text formats. Designed for nursing and allied health students, as well as consumer health researchers.
Health and Wellness Resource Center - Provides access to magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories, and information on: Fitness, Pregnancy, Medicine, Nutrition, Diseases, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Alcohol and Drug abuse, Prescription Drugs, etc. Included are links to diet, cancer, and health assessment sites as well as government databases.
HealthSource - Provides access to nearly 300 full text, consumer health periodicals, as well as, full text, indexing and abstracts for more than 300 periodicals. Also included is searchable full text for nearly 1,100 health-related pamphlets; 135 health reference books, including books published by the People's Medical Society; more than 4,500 Clinical Reference Systems reports (in English and Spanish); and Stedman's Medical Dictionary. In addition, this database includes Clinical Pharmacology, which provides access to up-to-date, concise and clinically relevant drug monographs for all U.S. prescription drugs, hard-to-find herbal and nutritional supplements, over-the-counter products and new drugs.
Lexis-Nexis Academic - Provides full-text documents from over 5,600 news, business, legal, medical, and reference publications with a variety of flexible search options.
Nutrition Care Manual - (On Campus Access Only) The ADA Nutrition Care Manual is published by the American Dietetics Association. The Nutrition Care Manual is consistent the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services� Interpretive Guidelines for the Hospital Conditions of Participation. NCM also meets the Joint Commission�s Hospital Accreditation Standards 2007. Additionally, NCM has been named the preferred diet manual by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program.
