Cochrane Library - The Cochrane Library consists of six independent databases serving the new of health care professional in the field. Cochrane provides reports on the methods used in controlled medically trials (Methodology Register), provides published systematic reviews on the effects of health care (Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects), contains full-text articles and protocols focusing on the effects of healthcare (Database of Systematic Reviews), provides information on the costs and effects of drugs, treatments and procedures (NHS Economic Evaluation Database), provides details of completed and ongoing health technology assessments (Health Technology Assessments), and provides a bibliography of controlled trials identified by contributors to the Cochrane Collaboration (Central Register of Controlled Trials).
ERIC - The Education Resources Information Center (ERIC), sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of Education, is a database of journal and non-journal education literature.
Health Reference Center - Provides an integrated collection of general interest health and fitness magazines, medical and professional periodicals, reference books and pamphlets. Records are available in a combination of indexing, abstracts or full text formats. Designed for nursing and allied health students, as well as consumer health researchers.
Health and Wellness Resource Center - Provides access to magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories, and information on: Fitness, Pregnancy, Medicine, Nutrition, Diseases, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Alcohol and Drug abuse, Prescription Drugs, etc. Included are links to diet, cancer, and health assessment sites as well as government databases.
HealthSource - Provides access to nearly 300 full text, consumer health periodicals, as well as, full text, indexing and abstracts for more than 300 periodicals. Also included is searchable full text for nearly 1,100 health-related pamphlets; 135 health reference books, including books published by the People's Medical Society; more than 4,500 Clinical Reference Systems reports (in English and Spanish); and Stedman's Medical Dictionary. In addition, this database includes Clinical Pharmacology, which provides access to up-to-date, concise and clinically relevant drug monographs for all U.S. prescription drugs, hard-to-find herbal and nutritional supplements, over-the-counter products and new drugs.
Lexis-Nexis Academic - Provides full-text documents from over 5,600 news, business, legal, medical, and reference publications with a variety of flexible search options.
Physical Education Index - Provides records that are indexed and classified from peer-reviewed journals, report literature, conference proceedings, trade magazines, patents, articles from the popular press, and many other publications. Abstracts feature a wide variety of content, ranging from physical education curricula, to sports medicine, to dance. Other coverage includes sport law, kinesiology, motor learning, recreation, standardized fitness tests, sports equipment, business and marketing, coaching and training, and sport sociology/psychology. Health education and physical therapy are also covered.
Academic Search Elite - A multi-disciplinary database offering full text for more than 2,050 scholarly journals. Covering virtually every area of academic study, it offers full text information for many of it's journals dating as far back as 1985.
Discovering Collection - Provides reference content for the core curriculum areas of Literature, History, Biographies, Science, and Social Studies.
Proquest Research Library - Provides access to full-text journals across a wide range of subject areas, including arts, business, children, education, general interest, health, humanities, international, law, military, multicultural, psychology, sciences, social sciences, and women's interests.
WilsonWeb - Provides a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles of at least one column in length from English-language periodicals published in the United States and elsewhere plus the full text of selected periodicals. Includes the following indexes: Applied Science and Technology, Art, Biological and Agricultural, Business, Education, General Science, Humanities, Legal, Readers’ Guide, and Social Science.
