CINAHL - Offers complete coverage of English-language nursing journals and publications from the National League for Nursing and the American Nurses' Association, covering nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines. In addition, this database offers access to health care books, nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards of practice, educational software, audiovisuals and book chapters.
Cochrane Library - The Cochrane Library consists of six independent databases serving the new of health care professional in the field. Cochrane provides reports on the methods used in controlled medically trials (Methodology Register), provides published systematic reviews on the effects of health care (Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects), contains full-text articles and protocols focusing on the effects of healthcare (Database of Systematic Reviews), provides information on the costs and effects of drugs, treatments and procedures (NHS Economic Evaluation Database), provides details of completed and ongoing health technology assessments (Health Technology Assessments), and provides a bibliography of controlled trials identified by contributors to the Cochrane Collaboration (Central Register of Controlled Trials).
Health Reference Center - Provides an integrated collection of general interest health and fitness magazines, medical and professional periodicals, reference books and pamphlets. Records are available in a combination of indexing, abstracts or full text formats. Designed for nursing and allied health students, as well as consumer health researchers.
Health and Wellness Resource Center - Provides access to magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories, and information on: Fitness, Pregnancy, Medicine, Nutrition, Diseases, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Alcohol and Drug abuse, Prescription Drugs, etc. Included are links to diet, cancer, and health assessment sites as well as government databases.
HealthSource - Provides access to nearly 300 full text, consumer health periodicals, as well as, full text, indexing and abstracts for more than 300 periodicals. Also included is searchable full text for nearly 1,100 health-related pamphlets; 135 health reference books, including books published by the People's Medical Society; more than 4,500 Clinical Reference Systems reports (in English and Spanish); and Stedman's Medical Dictionary. In addition, this database includes Clinical Pharmacology, which provides access to up-to-date, concise and clinically relevant drug monographs for all U.S. prescription drugs, hard-to-find herbal and nutritional supplements, over-the-counter products and new drugs.
Lexis-Nexis Academic - Provides full-text documents from over 5,600 news, business, legal, medical, and reference publications with a variety of flexible search options.
OVID Nursing Journals - An aggregate of hundreds of scientific, technical, and medical journals from over 50 publishers and societies. Full-text available for subscribed journals. Subject areas include: Clinical Medicine, Behavioral and Social Sciences, Life Sciences, and Nursing.
PsychARTICLES - Provides full-text of 66 American Psychological Association journals, Canadian Psychological Association journals and the Hogrefe Publishing Group journals. It includes all journal articles, book reviews, letters to the editor, and errata from each journal. Coverage spans 1894 to present; nearly all APA journals go back to Volume 1, Issue 1.
PsychINFO - From the American Psychological Association, contains over two million citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books and dissertations, all in the field of psychology, dating as far back as 1840. Journal coverage, which dates back to the 1800s, includes international material selected from nearly 2,000 periodicals in over 24 languages. Also includes information about the psychological aspects of related disciplines such as medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, anthropology, business and law.
Academic Search Elite - A multi-disciplinary database offering full text for more than 2,050 scholarly journals. Covering virtually every area of academic study, it offers full text information for many of it's journals dating as far back as 1985.
Proquest Research Library - Provides access to full-text journals across a wide range of subject areas, including arts, business, children, education, general interest, health, humanities, international, law, military, multicultural, psychology, sciences, social sciences, and women's interests.
WilsonWeb - Provides a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles of at least one column in length from English-language periodicals published in the United States and elsewhere plus the full text of selected periodicals. Includes the following indexes: Applied Science and Technology, Art, Biological and Agricultural, Business, Education, General Science, Humanities, Legal, Readers’ Guide, and Social Science.
