Personal Bio:
I have had an unusual and varied career. My work as a news reporter and editor has always been interesting and usually exciting. Working as a public information officer in a university town provided me with an in-depth understanding of how city governments often work. Even so, I was overjoyed to leave that job due to the office politics and infighting among city council members. That’s when I became a student media administrator and trainer, which led me into teaching. When my mother died in 2002, I thought I should realize my potential. I married Holly Prall in 2005. We moved with my father to Virginia, where I took a post teaching video production at a private college and taught/advised the student newspaper staff. When UCA hired me to help develop its broadcast journalism curriculum, I could only marvel at the opportunity to hold the second best job in the world. News reporting will always be the greatest.
