Welcome to the MIS Department at UCA. Are you interested in business and interested in computers? Then MIS might be for YOU! MIS undergraduates work with other business professionals and computer specialists to create all types of business computer systems. The work is exciting and ever-changing. MIS undergraduates work on projects with many different people using modern computer technologies. If you like to work with computers and people then MIS might be your perfect match!

MIS graduates are among the highest paid graduates from four-year universities, and the opportunities for advancement are some of the best for any undergraduate degree. Track Specializations

Web Development / E-Commerce Track
The Web Development / E-Commerce track is designed for MIS majors who wish to prepare for jobs developing Internet-based systems. Graduates from the Web Development / E-Commerce track typically create and maintain websites for businesses and non-profit entities including computer interfaces in support of electronic commerce.

Programmer/Analyst Track
The Programmer/Analyst track is designed for MIS majors who wish to prepare for jobs working as system designers and system builders in a large organization. Graduates from the Programmer/Analyst track typically work with non-technical managers and staff along with computer scientists and technicians in designing and building large computer-based systems and corporate computer infrastructures.

GIS/Spatial Systems Track
The GIS/Spatial Systems track is designed for MIS majors who wish to prepare for jobs working with electronic mapping systems. These systems are used extensively by federal, state, and local government agencies. Utility companies which provide electric power, natural gas, water, sewer, cable, and telephone almost all use these systems. Many other employers are also interested in GIS/Spatial system technologies.

Telecommunications & Computer Networks Track
The Telecommunications & Computer Networking track is designed for MIS majors who wish to prepare for jobs in the telecommunications industry or as networking specialists. Alltel, AT&T, Sprint and many other wireline and wireless companies comprise the telecommunications industry. Almost all businesses use computer networks so the need for networking expertise is widespread.
