Dr. Linda Musselman, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Central Arkansas, has been elected to the office of chairmanship of the American Occupational Therapy Association Program Directors Education Council (PRODEC).

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Central Arkansas is set to admit
students into a new Master of Science Degree program in Applied Mathematics
beginning fall 2006.

A dedication ceremony and open house of the new Dr. Jefferson D. Farris Jr. Honors Hall will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 5. A reception will follow.

Farris Honors Hall is located across from the HPER center on the corner of Farris Road and Student's Lane.

The residence hall, which will house Honors College sophomores, juniors and seniors, is named in honor of the university's sixth president. Dr. Farris called for the creation of the state's first Honors College, which was established in 1982.

The following presentations, publications and accomplishments were submitted by UCA faculty and staff:

University of Central Arkansas recognized outstanding achievements on the part of 87 graduates of the Honors College, 21 departmental undergraduate scholars, 32 members of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges as well as 159 University Honors (no-thesis) graduates and 1,340 Presidential Scholars at the 35th annual Academic Honors Convocation held recently on the campus.

The University of Central Arkansas held its 53rd annual Service Awards presentation recently with faculty excellence winners, top staff members, retirees and employees with lengthy tenure cited by President Lu Hardin.
