Courtway appointed to oversee governmental relations and counsel

Tom Courtway of Conway has been named General Counsel and Director of Governmental Relations at the University of Central Arkansas. Courtway's appointment will be effective August 28 according to UCA President Lu Hardin.
Strong storm damages campus

During the storm, a 25-foot section of roof blew off State Hall, a co-ed residence hall for freshmen, and landed on a tree in a nearby parking lot.
UCA President Lu Hardin said the university was fortunate that no one was injured during the storm.
Nineteen students living in State Hall were relocated to a hotel last night. According to university officials, the residence hall reopened today and those displaced students have returned to their rooms.

Former secretary of state donates papers to archives

Former Secretary of State Sharon Priest has donated her papers to the University of Central Arkansas Archives. Priest visited the archives on Tuesday to meet with Director Jimmy Bryant and the rest of the staff. A reception will be held in the summer of 2007 at which time the collection will be open to the public.
