General Information on LPN/LPTN to BSN

  • Recognizes prior education

  • Provides multiple options for earning credit

  • Offers full time and part time schedules

  • The University of Central Arkansas provides a track specifically designed for LPNs and LPTNs that recognizes the prior education and experience of the nurse.  Based on the Arkansas Nursing Articulation Model, the UCA LPN/LPTN to BSN track assumes that all nursing education programs share a common body of knowledge.

Qualified LPNs and LPTNs may receive up to 13 hours of nursing credit for the first and second clinical courses and for pharmacology.  Other options are available for earning credit for non-nursing courses.

UCA's LPN/LPTN to BSN track is flexible, offering both full time and part time schedules; provides personal attention to students through smaller class sizes and individual advising; prepares the graduate for new roles in health care; and provides a foundation for graduate study.  The UCA CCNE accredited program is competitive when compared to other programs within the state and nationally.
