MSN Application Process

1. Must apply and be admitted to both UCA's Graduate School and the Master's program in the Department of Nursing. Print 
  • The Graduate School application can be completed and submitted online.  You are responsible for reviewing and completing their application criteria.

  • The Department of Nursing's MSN application form can be completed online, saved on your personal computer, then printed for submission.  Applications must be submitted in hard-copy (paper) format.
    • Mail or hand-deliver the printed application to the Department of Nursing.
    • No electronic applications or supporting documents will be accepted.

Academic transcript requirements:

  • Course work completed at UCA does not require a transcript be sent with your application.

  • Course work completed at another institution(s), must have a hard-copy (paper) transcript(s) sent directly to the Department of Nursing.
    • Any transcript not received in the Department of Nursing by the indicated due date flags your application as incomplete. 
    • Transcripts submitted to the UCA Registrar's Office are not sent to the Department of Nursing.
    • No electronic transcripts will be accepted.

Personal Interview:

  • Prior to being accepted into the MSN program, each applicant must have a personal interview and orientation to the MSN program and its requirements.  After all the paper work has been submitted, contact the appropriate individual to schedule an appointment:
    • If in the Fort Smith area,  contact Loyce Kennedy at Lkennedy@sparks.org or 479-709-1974 to schedule an interview.
    • All other applicants contact Dr. Nelda New, Graduate Program Director at neldan@uca.edu or 501-450-3119 to schedule an interview.

4.

Completed application must be received or be postmarked by indicated due date:

  • MSN admission criteria

  • Application & Checklist (due dates by semester you want to begin classes)
    • Fall: Applications only accepted between February 15 and April 1
    • Spring: Applications only accepted between June 15 and August 1
