MSN Track Descriptions
| All of the MSN majors/tracks are designed for Registered Nurses (RNs) with a baccalaureate degree in nursing who are seeking the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. The MSN program is designed for the working RN with all nursing courses offered online. Periodic visits to the Conway campus are required for each course. The Nurse Educator Certificate is also available with any MSN major/track or can be obtained as a post-MSN certificate. UCA's MSN curriculum prepares the graduate to be an expert provider of care in acute, ambulatory and community care settings, as well as, a leader in institutional and professional settings. | |

| This track is designed for the graduate student who seeks to become a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the area of Adult Medical-Surgical care. A Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an advanced practice nurse who has specialized expertise in a specific area of practice. This CNS track focuses on the adult population. | This track is designed for the graduate student who seeks to specialize in population and community health care. The Community/Family Health Nurse track is undergoing some revisions due to recent credentialing changes. | This 9-credit hour certificate provides students with the knowledge and skills to provide classroom and/or clinical instruction; enables the student to understand and experience curriculum development; and equips the student with the tools needed to measure and evaluate student outcomes. | |
