Schedule of Events

 

Friday, November 21, 2008

10:00am-12:45pm

 

Conference Registration - Brewer-Hegeman Hall, Room #2 (AMUN Secretariat Headquarters)

 

Delegation should send their faculty advisor and head delegate(s) to the registration desk located in the AMUN Secretariat Headquarters in Room #2 of Brewer-Hegeman Hall, which is located on the south end of the campus of the University of Central Arkansas.  If you haven't yet paid your delegate fees, you will need to pay these fees in full at the registration desk in order for the delegates to be given their credentials (i.e. name badges, etc.).

 

All of the sessions of the AMUN Conference will be held in either Brewer-Hegeman Hall, Reynolds Performance Hall, Stanley Russ Hall, or Student Center.  All of these sites, with the exception of the Student Center, are located in the same general area at the south end of the UCA campus near the AETN building.  There is free parking for cars, vans, and buses on the west side of Reynolds Performance Hall.

 

Note: The faculty advisor lounge will be located in the 2nd Floor Lobby of Reynolds Performance Hall (take the elevator from the main lobby of Reynolds Performance Hall).  Coffee, ice tea, and water will be available to faculty advisors, etc. during the entire conference.

Orientation Session - Reynolds Performance Hall.

(Orientation session for teachers and students 9th through 12th grades who are attending the AMUN conference as observers or delegates for the first time, as well as junior high school teachers and students 6th through 8th grades who are attending the conference as observers.)

 

1:00pm-2:00pm

 

Opening Session - Reynolds Performance Hall.

Social and Humanitarian Committee - Reynolds Performance Hall.

Economic and Social Council - Student Center, Room 215A.

Resumption of Committee and Council Meetings:

(meetings will be held in the same rooms as listed above).

 

All pages should report to the AMUN Secretariat Headquarters in Brewer-Hegeman Hall (Room 2).

 

All committees of the General Assembly should elect their Rapporteurs between 11:00am and 11:30am.

 

All committees of the General Assembly should formally adjourn their meetings at the end of this session, and should plan to convene in the Plenary Session of the General Assembly in Reynolds Performance Hall at 1:00pm.

 

11:30am-1:00pm

Lunch Break:

(all delegates are expected to be back in the Security Council, ECOSOC, MICJ, MAL, HRC, or General Assembly plenary session promptly at 1:00pm.  Please do not be late!)

1:00pm-3:50pm

 

Plenary Session of the General Assembly:

(all committees of the General Assembly should report to the plenary session of the General Assembly in Reynolds Performance Hall.)

 

Delegates selected as Rapporteurs for the General Assembly Committees should report to Reynolds Performance Hall for their presentations beginning shortly after the Plenary Session of the General Assembly convenes at 1:00pm.  All other Rapporteurs should report to Reynolds Performance Hall for their presentations at approximately 3:30pm.

Security Council - Brewer-Hegeman Hall (Room 1).

 

Model International Court of Justice (MICJ) - Stanley Russ Hall (Room 103).

Awards presentations and announcement of 2009 secretary-general.

 

As a courtesy to all of the participants in the conference, please do not plan to leave prior to the end of closing session!  If you must leave early, please inform the AMUN Secretary-General or AMUN Coordinator.
