Absolutely not!! Hentai is a subset of the genre, but we will not show it! Though some of our showings will have adult themes (violence, nudity, some sexual content, adult language), none of it is cartoon porn. |

We have two levels of membership. Full members can vote on club business and attend parties for free, but you must be a UCA student and attend at least three meetings per semester. General members have to be a student at Hendrix College or Central Baptist College, have no attendance requirement, and can still attend parties for free, but cannot vote on club business. Dues for both are $5 a semester, which goes to the operation of the club. |

Anime is the Japanese term for all animation, even Disney films! In the US however, it has come to mean specifically Japanese animation. Manga is the general term for what are basically comic books. Most of the anime you see started out as manga! |

Part of it is that most people are exposed to anime via television or rented tapes in dubbed format, and so we like to present a different format. Also, the subtitles are a more accurate translation than dubbing, because there is no need to reword it to match the mouth movements of the characters. Besides, the official purpose of this organization is "to promote an understanding and appreciation of Japanese culture and language through observation of Japanese animation." And partly because we're just weird like that! |

Talk to an officer (or e-mail the officers) if you've got a suggestion! If we can find it and think it will make a good showing, we'll find a way to work it into the schedule. This is your organization, so your suggestions are very welcome! |
