NWPCA News

Congratulations Mike Rush!
Mike received recognition for six of the pieces that he entered in the Arkansas Writer's Conference.   He also attended the Professional Writing Retreat Washington the 2006 summer.

NPR's "Tales from the South"
Great news about two of our group--Mike Rush and Peggy Donaho.  Mike will be reading his story “She Was My Bad Habit” and Peggy will read  “The Bronco Carp” September 11 at the show taping of this month's NPR's "Tales from the South."  Paula Morell and Elaine Corum record the show each month at the Starving Artist Cafe in downtown Little Rock on 7th street, just one block off Broadway.  The thirty minute show is recorded before a live audience the second Monday night of each month and then edited and broadcast on the fourth Thursday night of each month at 7:00 pm. KLRE is at FM 89.1.

On September 11, the restaurant opens at 6:00 with taping beginning at 7:00.  Although they do not serve dinner on the evenings we record, the restaurant does have a cash bar with wine and beer, cokes and coffee.

Please come down and  join Mike, Peggy, Paula, and Elaine for the taping!
