Current Research:

  • The neurologic basis of the etiology and maintenance of stuttering.

  • How the fear mechanism of the central nervous system contributes to the etiology and maintenance of stuttering through its’ contributions to classical and instrumental conditioning.

  • How the sub-cortical limbic system and its’ emotional contributions contribute to the etiology and maintenance of stuttering.

  • How fear and other emotional systems contribute to the behaviors associated with stuttering.

  • The effects of brain injury upon human consciousness and self awareness.

 

Future Research:

  • Currently negotiating a third edition of The Three Dimensions of Stuttering: Neurology, Behavior, and Emotion, John Wiley and Sons, UK.
