UCA's Walk Against Cancer - Tuesday, March 1st at 4 pm in front of Main Hall

"UCA's Walk Against Cancer” will be held on Tuesday, March 1st at 4 pm.  This event is open to everyone and will start in front of Main.

 

Serving Central Arkansas Together is proud to invite you to participate in “UCA's Walk Against Cancer” on Tuesday, March 1st.  This 3K walk is in honor of President Hardin, who is a recent cancer survivor.  Everyone is welcome at the walk, which will begin in front of Main Hall at 4 pm, with Eureka Pizza in the bottom of Main to follow the walk.  Please join us in showing UCA's support for our wonderful President, who has done so much for our school, and other brave individuals like him.  Donations for the American Cancer Society will also be accepted at the event.   wristbands will be passed out while supplies last.  If you have any questions about the event please contact Rudy Ledbetter or Event Coordinator Sayre Gaskin.

Habitat for Humanity "Spring Break Blitz Build"

During the UCA spring break Habitat for Humanity will be having a “Spring Break Blitz Build.”  The “Blitz Build” entails spending the week of spring break building a home for a single mom with three sons.  Local churches are going to provide meals and lodging for those who live in the dorms that will close during spring break.  S.C.A.T. thinks it's a good way to help the community and people that need our help.  It's a nice way to return something to the community for all the things that have been given to us.  For those S.C.A.T. members that would like to help out, please feel free to contact contact Brittany Litchford at Doolfan03@aol.com.

2005-2006 S.C.A.T. Executive Officer Elections

Its election time again.  S.C.A.T.’s executive officers will be graduating so their positions will need to be filled in order for the S.C.A.T. club to survive.  Here is the link to the 2005-2006 Executive Officer Applications.

SGA granted S.C.A.T. $520 to help fund the "UCA Walk Against Cancer"

in Honor of UCA President Lu Hardin.

We were allocated $200 dollars for publicity and $320 for 300 wristbands.

On Sunday, October 3rd Michael Moore spoke at the University of Central Arkansas.  During his speech, he thanked Serving Central Arkansas Together for registering people to vote in the upcoming elections.  Here is the video from that event.

Our S.C.A.T. #2 softball team "Second Place" came in second place again this year.  Thanks for all those that played. 
 

Flag football has started again.  The guys team lost 0-7 and the girls lost 0-18.  Come out and support your team and help cheer them to victory.  The guys next game is this Thursday at 9 pm on the softball fields.

 

I Heart S.C.A.T. pins are in and they cost $1.50.  If you want one, see me.

 

Also there's talk about Colin Powell coming to UCA and talking for S.C.A.T.  I will post with any updates.

 

 

It's time to pay dues.  So find me so you can go to the retreat.

It's time to pay dues.  After paying dues, you get an individualized membership card and also a window cling.  Also, the card will let you go the the retreat which will be held on October 9th at Melanie, Tracy and L.C.'s house.  We will be cooking out, getting to know each other, and making new friends.  More info to come.

Serving Central Arkansas Together brought the game in softball

Tonight the Serving Central Arkansas Together softball played 3 long games.  We lost the first game 7-9 and the second game 14-15.  We scored only 2 runs in a game of 2-6 against one of our rivals PT 2.  Cullen and Jen did excellent jobs pitching.  Everybody did a great job and made some new friends.

Haley Heath battled her way to the Semi-Finals in a close 5-8 match.  Joel Fletcher played a pretty awesome game as well.  Special thanks to Anthony Willis for giving it up and playing on short notice.

Blitz Build - Spring Break 2004

Doug has informed me that there will be a Habitat for Humanity event next called "Blitz Build" Spring Break 2004.  The event entails building a house in a week.  "Habitat for Humanity of Faulkner County" is the sponsoring organization.
