Letha J. Mosley, Ph.D., OTR, FAOTA
Assistant Professor
Dr. Mosley has practiced as an occupational therapist since 1980 in adult neurorehabilitation and geriatrics. Now her focus is on addressing health disparities by merging occupational therapy (OT) perspectives with community based participatory research (CBPR) to plan, develop, and evaluate faith-based programs for health and wellness. Her emphasis is on addressing obesity and obesity related conditions through contextually relevant assessments and programs. She has worked to develop a campus-community partnership Strengthening Health Initiatives For Today’s African American Households (SHIFT-AAH) as an avenue for CBPR collaborations. A lifelong learner, she strives to infuse principles of adult education into classroom and professional presentations to promote personal and professional growth of students, practitioners, and colleagues. Her experience with face-to-face instruction, distance education, and online pedagogy is invaluable as she serves as the Chair of the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) which is the governing agency for OT and OT assistant education.
Dr. Mosley is from a large family rooted in Oklahoma.. She is a member of the Greater Pleasant Branch Missionary Baptist Church (GPB), Director of the GPB Health and Wellness Ministry and is in the GPB Mass Choir.
