Tina A. Mankey, Ed.D., OTR/L
Assistant Professor
Tina Mankey Ed.D., OTR/L has over 20 years of experiences as an occupational therapist and has been a faculty member at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) since 1996. In 2005, Dr. Mankey graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a doctorate in higher education. While in advanced studies, special education was the focus of her coursework, particularly in regard to the relevance of occupational therapy services.
Dr. Mankey was involved in Burdick Program for Rural Interdisciplinary Training Grant funded through the US Department of Health and Human Services from 2004 to 2006. She also participated as the liaison for occupational therapy students for Leadership for Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) grant funded through the Health Resource Services Administration, Maternal and Child Health Services from 2000 to 2005. Dr. Mankey recently submitted an interdisciplinary grant proposal, Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Other Related Disabilities (LEND), along with faculty from the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences and the College of Education.
A specific interest of Dr. Mankey is secondary transition services and the role of occupational therapy in school systems. Currently, she is developing a research project to investigate the status of occupational therapy involvement with secondary transition planning in the state of Arkansas. In addition, Dr. Mankey is interested in collaborative practices and practice trends of occupational therapy in school systems. Dr. Mankey is maintains national involvement in the American Occupational Therapy Association through membership and working as a conference proposal reviewer. She is also an Arkansas Representative to the AOTA Representative Assembly.
