  2. How do I enroll in the classes?

You will need to fill out a Credit Course Enrollment Form located on the Credit Courses page on the Academic Outreach website. 3. Can you give me more information about the Reading classes?

The classes are 8 weeks each and ECSE 5311 Reading/Literacy Instruction is a prerequisite for ECSE 5320 Principles and Practices of Reading and Writing.  The first class ECSE 5311 will run the first eight weeks of the semester.  Once this class is finished the second class ECSE 5320 will begin and it will run the last eight weeks of the semester.  There are three campus meeting dates per class with the remainder of the classes being online.  These classes meet on Monday nights from 6-9 pm in Mashburn Hall.

  4. What about the Arkansas History class?

Some students need to take the HIST 3310 Social Science Concepts in Arkansas History class and there are a couple of different ways that it can be taken.  We offer this class as a semester based class, which is financial aid eligible and as an Extended Studies class (you have 6 months to complete the class).  Please note that the 6 month class is not financial aid or scholarship eligible.

In order to be enrolled in either class you will need to schedule a time to meet with
Dr. Ken Barnes, Chair of the History Department, for approval.

If Dr. Barnes gives his approval for a student to take the class as semester based,  he will send notification that you've been approved to take the class.  Nothing else is required from the student at this time.

If he says that you can take the class as an extended study class, you will need to contact The Office of Extended Study to fill out paperwork.  For questions about the 6 month classes, e-mail study@uca.edu or call  501-450-5811.
