HLC 2010: Comprehensive Self-Study
The University of Central Arkansas will host a team of Higher Learning Commission consultant-evaluators in March 2010. In preparation for that visit and its application for continuing accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission, the university launched its ten-year comprehensive self-study in the spring semester 2008. In March 2008, President Hardin formed and charged the Self-Study Steering Committee (SSSC).

The Higher Learning Commission has articulated five Criteria for Accreditation, has detailed core components for each, and has suggested four cross-cutting themes that structure evidence about the criteria and describe an effective higher learning organization.
