Use of the Psychology Participant Pool
The Department of Psychology and Counseling maintains a pool of voluntary student participants using experiment scheduling software at http://uca.sona-systems.com/ The purpose of this pool is to provide an educational experience for students interested in the research process in psychology. The pool may be used by Psychology faculty and students who have IRB approval to conduct their research.
Step-by-step Procedures for Experimenters

Obtain IRB approval. All IRB applications must contain the following:
- A description of the participant pool under items 8 and 9 (subject selection and remuneration).

A copy of the debriefing (attached to the application) that will be given to students at the end of the study. The debriefing must include:
- the full purpose of the research
- background information and definitions of terminology
- the research hypotheses
- the key independent and dependent variables in the study
- information on how to contact the investigators if participants have questions.
