BS in Health Science, Physical Therapy Emphasis Degree

For Students Interested in Preparing for the DPT Degree

Description

UCA offers an undergraduate Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Health Sciences - Physical Therapy Emphasis.  This degree is designed for students who are interested in physical therapy and plan to apply for DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) Degree.  The Health Sciences - Physical Therapy Emphasis is described in the UCA Bulletin and requires successful completion of a minimum of 124 credit hours, including general education requirements, major degree requirements, and 40 upper division credit hours. 

Completion of the BS in Health Science, Physical Therapy Emphasis degree provides students with the necessary prerequisite coursework necessary to apply to the DPT Degree additional requirements for application are described on the DPT Degree web page.

Pre-PT Club

The Pre-PT Club is a recognized student organization at UCA for students who are majoring in Health Sciences - Physical Therapy Emphasis.  The club meets the first Tuesday of each month during X-period usually in the Physical Therapy Center in Room 108.  The meetings are designed to help the majors learn about the profession of physical therapy or prepare them for an upcoming event.  For more information contact Charlotte Fant at 501-450-3611.

The University of Central Arkansas is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) as a bachelor's, master's, specialist's, and doctoral degree granting institution and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.   The BS in Health Science, PT Emphasis degree is accredited by HLC.  The Professional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
