UCA Public Appearances Sustaining Fund to Become a New Artists Endowment

The Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall opened in September 2000 with a concert by the late Ray Charles, who delivered a stunning concert to a full house of 1200. These lucky people could only imagine how important the Performance Hall would become to the University, to Conway, and to the Central Arkansas community. In its wisdom, the Reynolds Foundation required the University to raise an amount equal to 20 % of the value of the grant ($5.6 million), to endow the building. As of May 30, 2007, the Reynolds Endowment Fund sat at $1,131,317. The Endowment assures us that Reynolds Performance Hall will remain a first-class structure far into the 21st Century. UCA and Conway are a very lucky to have such a great performance venue. We should all be very proud! As part of our Centennial Celebration, we would like to begin building a new endowment, which would guarantee our ability to bring the world’s finest artists to Conway. We propose to create a new Artists Endowment for Public Appearances, using our current Annual Sustaining Fund, which has just topped $40,000 (we have not spent a penny of our donated income). We will use only the interest from the new Endowment to pay artist fees, as necessary. Please give generously to the new Artists Endowment. Your gift will allow us continue building UCA Public Appearances into a major performing arts venue for Arkansas and the region. Help us enhance our growing national reputation as an institution of higher learning and a center for excellence, especially in the performing arts.
