A Letter from the Faculty-in-Residence
Sophomore Year Experience Students,
Welcome to the SYE academic community. This is the program designed to give Sophomores More! The SYE program is different from other UCA Residence Halls in that there is a Faculty Resident Advisor. As the Faculty Resident Advisor/Faculty in Residence, I will provide academic advising for undeclared majors, scheduling, planning and on-going academic programs for all SYE students. In addition, there will be programs to assist you with exploring leadership and internship opportunities.
Like all UCA Residence Halls, SYE has a Residence Coordinator and Resident Assistants (RAs) who will make sure your experience of living in SYE is enjoyable and productive.
SYE also gives you access to the SYE Ambassador who serve as student coaches to help you achieve your academic goals. When you arrive in August you will meet your SYE Ambassador. They are excited about meeting you!
SYE has another important group of UCA faculty and staff who are committed to your academic success. We call them the SYE Namesakes. They will here to greet you on move in day. SYE Namesakes will conduct programs specifically for Sophomore students.
