Academic Scholarships for New Entering Students
For 2009-2010 Entering Freshmen - No Longer Accepting Appliations
The University of Central Arkansas awards academic scholarships to entering freshmen based on high school GPA and ACT/SAT scores, and other relevant factors.
*Recipients are responsible for making on-campus housing arrangements. To apply for housing, fill out the housing application and submit it with a $100 deposit to the housing office before April 1 for best results.
To receive the full benefit of this scholarship, students must reside in university housing. Scholarship will only cover charges and fees applied to all general students. Scholarship cannot cover graduate level courses or fees.
Scholarship application priority deadline is March 20. Scholarships will be awarded, as funds are available. Early application is recommended.
UCA Foundation Scholarship*
$6000 per semester
- Awarded for eight (8) consecutive semesters, not to include summer semesters.
Eligibility Requirements Include: National Merit/Achievement Finalist or Semifinalist and 3.25 cumulative high school GPA. Students must complete 30 hours each academic year with a 3.25 GPA. Semester GPA must be 2.5 or higher on at least 12 hours for scholarship continuation to the spring semester.
Students are encouraged to apply to the Honors College where they may compete for additional scholarships.
Trustee Scholarship*
$5,250 per semester
-Awarded for eight (8) consecutive semesters, not to include summer semesters.
Eligibility Requirements: 31-36 ACT/1360-1600 recentered SAT and 3.25 cumulative high school GPA. Students must complete 30 hours each academic year with a 3.25 GPA. Semester GPA must be 2.5 or higher on at least 12 hours for scholarship continuation to the spring semester.
Presidential Scholarship*
$4,500 per semester
- Awarded for eight (8) consecutive semesters, not to include summer semesters.
Eligibility Requirements: 29-30 ACT/1290-1350 recentered SAT and 3.25 cumulative high school GPA. Students must complete 30 hours each academic year with a 3.25 GPA. Semester GPA must be 2.5 or higher on at least 12 hours for scholarship continuation to the spring semester.
Dean's Scholarship*
$3,000 per semester
-Awarded for eight (8) consecutive semesters, not to include summer semesters.
Eligibility Requirements: 27-28 ACT/1210-1280 recentered SAT and a 3.25 cumulative high school GPA or class rank of either valedictorian or salutatorian. Students must complete 30 hours each academic year with a 3.25 GPA. Semester GPA must be 2.5 or higher on at least 12 hours for scholarship continuation into the spring semester.
University Scholarship*
$1500 per semester
-Awarded for eight (8) consecutive semesters, not to include summer semesters.
Eligibility Requirements: 25-26 ACT/1130-1200 recentered SAT and a 3.25 cumulative high school GPA. Students must complete 30 hours each academic year with a 3.25 GPA. Semester GPA must be 2.5 or higher on at least 12 hours for scholarship continuation into the spring semester.

Academics Scholarships for New Transfer Students

Application Deadline: Application must be received by July 1 for fall enrollment or November 1 for spring enrollment.
Transfer Scholarship
Tuition and general registration fees up to 15 credit hours per semester**
-Awarded for four (4) consecutive semesters, not to include summer semesters
Eligibility Requirements: Completion of 60 transferable hours at an Arkansas two-year college with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25. For scholarship renewal, students must complete 30 hours each academic year (fall and spring) with a 3.25 GPA. Semester GPA must be 2.5 or higher on at least 12 hours for scholarship continuation into the spring semester.
**Fees included in the scholarship are limited to those assessed to all general students.

Privately Funded Scholarships
Each year through endowed funds, the Foundation provides thousands of dollars in scholarships to UCA students. Scholarships and awards are made possible by private gifts and vary considerably in dollar value and criteria, reflecting the donors' gifts and interests.
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS WITH EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES ("APSEC")
The APSEC program is a scholarship program that supports students who exhibit exceptional financial need and/or extraordinary academic excellence and do not qualify for, or receive, other institutional scholarships or financial aid sufficient to attend the university or continue their education. The application deadline is August 1st for the fall semester and December 1st for the spring semester.
*Please note that the budget for the APSEC for the 2009-2010 academic year will be set by the Board of Trustees at the July 24, 2009, board meeting.
