Renewal

Complete at least 30 hours in the fall and spring terms with a yearly GPA of 3.25. Cumulative GPA is not used to determine renewal status, only the combined fall and spring GPAs. In the fall semester you must have at least 12 hours and a 2.5 for the scholarship to renew for the spring semester. Summer hours do not count in total for hours or GPA requirement. If for any reason you leave the University you forfeit your scholarship.

Reinstatement

If a student loses their scholarship and wants it reinstated they must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5. Also, the semester before the student wants it reinstated they must have completed 15 hours. Only Fall and Spring hours will count towards this requirement. When it is reinstated you must meet all requirements of the scholarship. If the scholarship is reinstated mid-year (January for Fall-Spring recipients or August for Spring-Fall Recipients) the student must complete 15 hours and keep a 3.25 GPA for the scholarship to renew. Fall 2005 and Fall 2006 scholarships will only be reinstated for tuition and fees. Scholarships awarded Fall 2007 and after can receive up to 18 hours of tuition and fees, as long as it does not exceed the maximum value of the scholarship. No additional charges will be covered.

Holds/Exceptions

A scholarship can be placed on hold for a semester if a student has a documented medical condition or documented military service. The medical exception for scholarship requirements applies only to severe or life-threatening medical emergencies. If you leave the University without getting a hold, you forfeit your scholarship.  Please contact Undergraduate Studies at 501-450-3125 to learn more about any other exceptions or hold conditions. Students with holds and exceptions will have specific renewal/reinstatement requirements that may be different than the ones noted above.
