Speech Communication
Major
"Communication as a discipline, now includes interpersonal, small group, organizational, intercultural, international, public, mass, and mediated communication. The study of communication considers how people communicate as individuals, in society, and in various cultures" (Association for Communication Administration, August 1995). A communication degree prepares students for careers across government, industry, business, and future academic work in a variety of graduate and professional programs.
A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science with a major in Speech Communication requires completion of 124 hours including 1) general education component, 2) specific degree requirements, 3) a major as described below, and 4) a minor as arranged through the student's minor advisor.
