IDEAL Freshman Leadership Team

On behalf of the I.D.E.A.L. Selection Committee, thank you for expressing interest in the I.D.E.A.L. Intensive Leadership Team. Leadership skills are critical to success at UCA and beyond. I.D.E.A.L. is designed to help you develop the necessary techniques to maximize your effectiveness as a leader on campus.

The I.D.E.A.L. Selection Committee is looking for freshmen that have demonstrated effective leadership skills in a variety of positions or for those who show great potential for leadership. I.D.E.A.L.ers will be called upon to serve in a variety of capacities including working closely with the UCA Student Government Association assisting to represent students to UCA administration.

Leadership Council

The University of Central Arkansas Leadership Council is a Recognized Student Organization (RSO) that is advised by a staff member from the Student Life department, but always strives to be student run. The purpose of the Leadership Council is to plan, implement and evaluate leadership programs for the UCA students and community. Leadership Council is comprised of student leaders that have attended campus leadership conferences who are interested in helping us continue to provide high quality leadership training to the campus.

Members come from all parts of the University of Central Arkansas community. Many members come to us from the other aspects of campus life such as Greek Life, Student Government (SGA), Student Orientation Staff (SOS), Student Activities Board (SAB), Honors College, and International Student Council. We are always looking for new and innovative members and ideas. Leadership Council meetings are located in the Student Center Suite 203 B every Wednesday at 4:00pm. Our meetings are always open to the public and we encourage you to drop in anytime.

• October 13-14, 2006
• March 9-10, 2007

The University of Central Arkansas sponsors at least two leadership conferences each year with the support of the UCA Leadership Council and SAB. These conferences are open to all UCA students and provide an excellent opportunity for both emerging student leaders and experienced student leaders to strengthen their leadership skills, exchange ideas, and expand their campus leadership network.

Generally these events involve bringing a nationally recognized speaker to campus as well as integrating experienced UCA student leaders into the program. For more information check back on this page or drop by our office located in the Student Center Suite 207.
