Survivor UCA: A special day for administrative professionals

April 25, 2007 is National Administrative Professionals Day, and on this day, from 8:00 am-3:00pm, the University of Central Arkansas?s Division of Academic Outreach will host its 6th Annual Administrative Professionals Day. Plan to join the many administrative professionals from across the state for SURVIVAL 101. Participants will learn survival tactics to help them in their personal and professional lives.

UCA Observatory Night

If the sky is clear, Wednesday March 21 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., the observatory will be open to the
general public to view Saturn, nebulae, and star clusters through the university telescope. Entrance to the observatory is located in the front lobby of Lewis Science Center. Admission is free.

Gladys Knight concert tickets on sale

Tickets are on sale now for the UCA Centennial Concert featuring famed R&B legend Gladys Knight.

The concert is set for 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, at Reynolds Performance Hall. Tickets are $20 for UCA students with ID and $50 for general public, and can be purchased through Ticket Central by calling 1-866-810-0012, or by visiting the box office at Reynolds Performance Hall between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Public Service Day Activities Planned

The UCA Department of Political Science, along with several UCA student organizations, are sponsoring "Public Service Day" on Wednesday, March 21, to raise awareness among students of career possibilities in the public and non-profit sectors.

James "Skip" Rutherford, Dean of the William J. Clinton School of Public Service, will be the keynote speaker at the Public Service Day luncheon, which begins at noon in Student Center Room 215A.

Rick Roberts, Diplomat-in-Residence at the University of Oklahoma, will discuss careers in the U.S. Foreign Service from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. in Students Center Room 214A.

Afterward, several speakers will discuss careers in local/state government and non-profit organizations during a panel discussion from 3-4 p.m. in Student Center Room 214A.

Representatives and information on graduate and law school programs will be available at a reception from 4-5 p.m. in Student Center Room 213A.
