UCA Challenge 2024

This program is facilitated by the University of Central Arkansas and the Department of Elementary, Literacy and Special Education. This program is directed by Ms. Jamie Dallas.

UCA Challenge Code of Conduct

Guiding Principles
• To ensure that the rights of all individuals are protected while attending the camp
• To establish the safest and best possible learning environment for all participants
• To ensure that breaches of the rules and code of conduct are treated in a fair and consistent manner

Expectations
• All parents and participants have the responsibility to treat one another, staff and property with respect
• All parents and participants have the responsibility to act and behave in a way which does not endanger, intimidate or interfere with the participation of others
• Participants have the responsibility to follow the instructions given by camp staff
• All parents and participants have the responsibility to behave according to this code of conduct

Rules – the following forms of behavior are considered a violation of this document and are unacceptable and could result in the immediate dismissal of participants:
• Cigarettes or any tobacco products, alcohol, non-prescribed drugs, weapons and pornographic material MUST NOT be brought to camp
• Using language which is offensive, sexist or racist
• Fighting, bullying or any other forms of aggressive behavior
• Leaving camp boundaries without permission
• Behaving in a manner which is offensive, abusive, or potentially dangerous to self and others
• Behaving in a manner which damages or vandalizes the property of others or the UCA campus
• Inappropriate physical contact

UCA reserves the right to suspend or dismiss a participant in camp activities, without refund of camp tuition, if such disciplinary action is required. Before such a decision is fully made, the participant and parent/guardian will meet with the camp director to determine the best course of action.

Steps taken for failure to follow these behavior guidelines
• UCA staff will redirect the participant to a more appropriate behavior.
• The participant will be reminded of the behavior guidelines.
• If the behavior persists, staff will discuss the problem with a parent/guardian.
• The staff will document the situation. The written documents will include what the behavior problem is, what provoked the problem, and the corrective action taken.
• If the problem persists to the point where a second phone call becomes necessary, the camp Director may find it necessary to have the participant picked up early from camp.
• The participant and parent/guardian will meet with the camp director to determine the best course of action.
• If a participant's behavior at any time threatens the immediate safety of him/her, other campers, or staff, the parent/guardian will be notified and expected to pick-up the child immediately.
• UCA reserves the right to suspend or dismiss a participant in camp activities, without refund of camp tuition, if such disciplinary action is required.

Payment Procedures:

The next screen will prompt you to enter your payment information. Please have your credit/debit card ready. The charge will process as UCA Student Accounts. Registration is not complete until payment is received. You will receive a payment receipt emailed up from student accounts.

The enrollment fee is $155.00. No refunds after June 15, 2024.

All applications are processed on a first come basis. You will receive an email confirmation within 7 business days from date of payment from Jamie Dallas and a reminder email the week before camp.
